This item made Nocturne from League of Legends really strong

One of the heroes of LoL benefited a lot from the recent changes of a certain item.

It has been known for a long time that item changes affect Summoner’s Rift champions differently – for some, the same change will be a huge weakening, for others, a reinforcement that will help them get back on their feet or make it to the top of the heroes on a specific role.

In this case, it was no different. Nocturne has benefited from a change to one of the items, even though there are champions who have suffered from it. Some players are shocked at how well this character is doing now. What is the item?

Nocturne and Stridebreaker – a recipe for winning?

Nocturne is a character that is doing really well these days. According to statistics sites such as lolalytics.com, he is one of the top 10 junglers and is currently in tier A +.

One player noted that the hero gained a lot from the changes to Stridebreaker in patch 11.13.

For starters, it’s worth remembering how the item currently works:

Stridebreaker

HEALTH 200  400
ATTACK DAMAGE 45  40
REMOVED DASH Halting Slash no longer lets the user dash 300 units
NEWSLASHER AND PRANCER Halting Slash can now be cast while moving
HALTING SLASH DAMAGE 75% AD  100% AD
SLOW 40%, decaying over 2 seconds  90%, decaying to 40% over 3 seconds
COOLDOWN 20 seconds  15 seconds
HEROIC GAIT BONUS MOVEMENT SPEED 30  20
MYTHIC PASSIVE BONUS MOVEMENT SPEED 3%  2%
DREAMSHATTER (ORNN’S UPGRADE) HEALTH 300  500
DREAMSHATTER (ORNN’S UPGRADE) ATTACK DAMAGE 55  50

ALSO – A lot of changes are coming to the League of Legends Hextech Workshop. What can you expect?

As it turns out – the changes described above had a great impact on Nocturne. One player noticed that the hero is doing extremely well in the current patch.

Nocturne now has 55% win rate at platinum+ overall in the world:

The Stridebreaker dash was never needed on Nocturne, so the removal of the dash and the buff of the damage, hp and slow simply makes it the perfect item for Nocturne. Not to mention the fact that in pro play, Noc is a triple flex.

ALSO – There is a unique situation in LoL where you lose 5 AD while assembling this mythical item

This was foreseeable to everyone except Riot that the Stridebreaker change would be a massive buff to a champ that was already very good in all levels of play, from Bronze to Pro play.

Will the developers do something about it? Sooner or later, when Nocturne will dominate Summoner’s Rift for a long time, the developers will eventually have to intervene. However, it is not known when this will happen.
