Crossplay is officially coming to Overwatch. What will it look like now?

Before the Summer Game Fest, Blizzard announced the crossplay feature that will appear in Overwatch.

Blizzard has officially confirmed that Overwatch will feature crossplay, which means everyone will be able to play with each other regardless of their platform. Playstation players will be able to play with PC or Xbox.

Of course, there will be some limitations. Crossplay can be turned on or off. However, it will be unavailable in competitive modes. In short, you will still be able to play ranked games only with your platform.

Crossplay in Overwatch

All the details of the upcoming news were explained by the game director – Aaron Keller. Of the things you need to know, for example, crossplay will not appear with the premiere of Overwatch 2. No date has been given, so the only change is that Blizzard is not only “interested”, but is officially already working on it.

In addition, with the launch of this system, players will receive a free gold box. Such a gift that does not change anything, but is a nice gesture.

  • Console players will be able to play against PC and other consoles if they enable crossplay
  • PC players will be able to play against consoles if they turn on cosplay
  • This does not apply to Ranked Modes. These will have separate matchmaking pools dedicated to PC and dedicated to consoles

Crossplay will apply to all platforms, namely: PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch.
