Episode 3 will add a new way to recognize and reward you for your time playing in all VALORANT game modes. Your account Player Card will display a numeric level based on how much you play, that goes up the more time you put in.
Since launch, we’ve looked at various ways to improve our progression system and Account Leveling is the first opportunity we jumped on for a number of reasons. The team will continue to investigate more ways to make the system even better, and we’ll keep you posted when we have more to say.
Read how it works below.
WHAT IS ACCOUNT LEVELING?
In VALORANT, we have many ways to reward those of you who play from an hour a day to all day. However, we lack ways to tangibly reward you based on your loyalty and time invested in the game, and not just Competitive play. Account leveling is our way to recognize and reward.
This is a new long term system for your account and can be found as a border on your in-game Player Card. This border will change every 20 account levels, and leave you with a way to visualize and rep the time you’ve spent in-game, even if it was all in Spike Rush.
HOW DO I LEVEL UP?
To level up your account will need to get Account Points (or AP).
- You earn AP by playing matches.
- The amount of AP you gain per match is based on the duration and results of the match.
- You will also be rewarded bonus AP for your first win of the day.
- AP only goes toward your Account Level, and does not contribute to your Battlepass or Agent Contract XP.
At the end of a match, the AP you earned goes toward your account level, which will appear on your Player Card as an evolving Account Level border.
HOW MUCH AP DO I NEED TO LEVEL UP?
Your account level goes up with every 5,000 AP you earn. As your account levels up, so does your account level border.
WILL I START AT LEVEL 1?
In order to respect time already invested into VALORANT, on the day of the Patch 3.0, you will receive an amount of AP based on how many matches you’ve played in the past.
This means you could be anywhere from Account Level 1 to 100 (or more) depending on how many games of VALORANT you’ve played at this point. Once the initial AP boost is given, you will earn AP normally as detailed above.
YR1 EVENTS CONTINUE
The anniversary party hits closing time but we’re not done yet. You’ve got about two weeks to collect the goods in the free for everyone YR1 Event Pass—7 levels of exclusive YR1 items like the Episode 3 Player Card, a Gun Buddy, and more. Just play VALORANT, earn XP, and unlock.
Don’t forget the Squad Boost, where you can earn more XP with friends, and the return of wwFest.
